Advances in research on the association between sleep disorders and cognitive dysfunction in Parkinson's disease
Abstract
Sleep disorders and cognitive dysfunction are common non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). There is a close relationship between different sleep disorders and cognitive dysfunction. However, the pathophysiological mechanism is still unclear. This article intends to review the pathophysiological mechanism of sleep disorders in PD and the relationship between different sleep disorders and cognitive dysfunction for early identification, early diagnosis, and early intervention of sleep disorders. Based on this, we can delay cognitive decline of patients with PD and improve quality of life.
