Abstract

With the acceleration of the aging process, chronic diseases have become the major threat to Chinese people's health. Stroke is in particular and has become the first death cause in China in recent years. However, there are still obvious deficiencies in the management system of stroke. An effective prevention and control model of stroke has not yet been established on national scale. The prevention and treatment of stroke is still in a low level in China. Good effects of stroke prevention and intervention have been achieved in several western modern countries. In order to establish a brand new stroke management system suitable for China's national condition, National Health and Family Planning Commission has launched stroke prevention and treatment project to explore the experience of stroke prevention and management.
